You won’t be hungry on 1500 calories of protein and fat – if you don’t eat carbohydrate

Hunger is not a problem on a 1500 calorie protein and fat diet, because you won’t be hungry eating 1500
calories of protein and fat, if you don’t eat carbohydrate. Carbohydrates trigger hunger because they release
insulin, so if you can stay off carbohydrates, you won’t be hungry. The real problem in sticking to a low
carbohydrate diet without cheating, is emotional eating and carbohydrate craving. Implosion (negative imagery of
bugs on your favorite carbohydrate foods) can help, but it’s not enough. You need an active way to deal with
emotional triggers that make you want to eat, and the fact that emotional triggers almost always make you want
to eat carbohydrates. And you need an active way to deal with the very real sweet and starch cravings, that
occur naturally over time on all low carbohydrate diets. When emotional eating kicks in, you need to drive a
wedge between thought and action. When carbohydrate cravings skyrocket, you need a concrete plan of action,
to stop yourself from hitting the sweets and starches. Imagery is the key here. More tommorrow.
