Overweight is a dance of your hunger, emotions and cravings. If you stick to 1500 calories of protein and fat,
without carbohydrate, you’ll lose 3-5 pounds a week. The problem is not eating carbohydrate. You won’t be
hungry on 1500 calories of protein and fat, so the issue is controlling emotional eating and carbohydrate cravings.
You can’t control your emotions. Emotions are a response to what happens to you in life. When something
wonderful happens, you feel happy. When something awful happens, you feel sad. Eating self-medicates
emotions. But you cannot control your emotions. You cannot control your carbohydrate cravings either. Sweet
and starch cravings naturally increase over time. Cravings are nature’s way of ensuring that you get the vitamins
and minerals in fruits and vegetables. Carbohydrate cravings are a natural response to being alive, and increase
over time. If you want to lose weight, what can you control? You can control your hunger, by eating. You can’t
control your emotions, because your emotions are automatic, something that happens to you. You can’t control
your carbohydrate cravings, because your carbohydrate cravings are automatic, something that happens to you.
So, what’s an overweight person to do? More tomorrow.
