If you’re not going to limit your calories on a low carb diet, you are not going to lose weight. You are depriving yourself of carbohydrates. There’s a real element of will power involved. In exchange for that effort, you should see weight loss. But you won’t see weight loss, if you eat as much as you want. The big lie in low carbohydrate dieting, is that you can eat as much as you want, and lose weight. Doesn’t happen. Keep your calories below 1500, or you probably won’t lose any weight. Try to keep your calories below 1000, so you lose weight fast enough to stay motivated to put up with the deprivation. 500-600 calories per day is hard to stay on for more than a few days, without appetite suppressant and anti-carbohydrate craving medication. You absolutely, positively cannot eat as much as you want on a low carb diet, and expect to lose weight
