Try 500 calories and 1500 calories – every other day

Every other day dieting can be particularly effective, if you can find a way to control you calories on both your diet (500 calorie) day, and on your off (1500-2000 calorie) day. Pre-packaged food makes this easy – Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice, Healthy Steamers, etc. Bars, Formula and Cookies work too. Raw vegetables only on your 500 calorie day, works for some patients. Prepackaged dead animal (Costco’s frozen 330 calorie ground sirloin burgers, frozen 220 calorie chicken breasts) portions work too. As do fast food burgers (200 calories) without the bun.
