A way that helps some patients structure and stay focused – is to think in terms of pounds of food per day. Freely feeding generally does not work, because calories go to stupid, way too fast. On a 1200 calorie Meat, Fruit and Vegetable Diet, for example, you can eat a pound of Meat a day. You can eat a pound and a half of Vegetables twice a day. And you can eat a pound of Fruit a day. Weighing everything you put in your mouth helps some patients and is crazy for others.
