The Egg and Orange Diet first appeared in the French edition of Elle Magazine in the 1950’s. It is an exceedingly
low calorie diet, about 600 calories a day. Average patient loses about 5 pounds in 3 days. Half of this weight
loss is water, but it is a good way to fit into your clothes in a hurry. Breakfast is 1 orange and 1 cup of skim milk.
Lunch is 1 cup of bullion soup, 1 egg (cooked any way you want), 1 orange. Dinner is 1 cup of tomato juice, 2
eggs, 1/2 head of lettuce, 1/2 cucumber, 1 orange.
