If you want to lose weight and keep it off, the bottom line is you’ve got to find a strategy that works for you dayin,
day-out. You actually need 2 different strategies, one strategy to lose weight and the other strategy to keep it
off. To lose weight, I strongly recommend a low carbohydrate, low calorie strategie – because as I keep saying,
you lose weight twice as fast on 1500 calories of protein and fat, compared to 1500 calories of carbohydrate.
There’s also not a significant difference between the weight lost on 500 calories a day compared to the weight
lost on 800 calories a day, so you can probably push your calories to 500-1000 range, and still lose weight as
fast as possible. I’m a big fan of rapid weight loss. Slow weight loss does not shrink your stomach or retrain your
eating habits. It just prolongs the agony. There’s no science that suggests any advantage to slow weight loss over
quick loss. In fact, the science suggests that the best way to lose weight and keep it off, is to lose weight rapidly
and get down to your goal weight. if you achieve you goal weight, you have a significantly greater chance of
maintaining your weight loss than if you don’t. Maintenance strategies tomorrow.
