The fruit you eat makes a difference in the calories you eat. Divide fruit into 2 groups – 100 calorie fruit and 50 calorie fruit. Bananas and apples and oranges are about 100 calories each. 1 cup of grapes or cherries is about 100 calories. Peaches and plums and nectarines and mandarin oranges and apricots are about 50 calories each. 1 cup of cantaloupe or honeydew melon or strawberries or blueberries or raspberries or black berries or pineapple is about 50 calories. Fruit is for maintenance only, or the weekends only, if you take the weekends off when you are dieting. It is almost impossible to eat any significant amount of fruit and lose weight, because fruit sugar metabolizes to twice as much alpha glycerol phosphate as simple carbohydrate, so it makes fat storage way to easy.
