Unless you limit calories, most rule based diets don’t work. Dr. Gott’s No Flour, No Sugar Diet doesn’t work for most patients. It’s way too easy to eat way to much meat and fruit – so you don’t lose weight fast enough to put up with the deprivation. Paleo Diets don’t work for most patients. It’s way to easy to eat way too much meat, fruit and nuts. Atkins doesn’t work for most patients. It’s way too easy to eat way too much meat, cheese, nuts, butter and eggs. If you want to lose weight, limit your calories to 500-600 a day (almost no food), or you probably won’t stay on your diet.
