The first reason to consider adding fruit to a low carb diet, is to decrease cheating on flour products (cake, cookies, bread, crackers, etc.) and sweetened dairy products (ice cream, Starbuck’s 800 calorie drinks, etc.). The second reason to consider adding fruit, is to decrease your total daily intake of dead animal calories. You really can’t lose weight eating 2 pounds of steak every day. The third reason to consider adding fruit, is that high fiber can decrease constipation. Fruit is best eaten once a day on a low carb diet, up to 2 pounds a day, either as a first meal of fruit only, or before or after your last meal of dead animal.
