Prevent holiday weight gain – and lose 1-2 pounds a week

One of my favorite ways to prevent holiday weight gain, and lose 1-2 pounds a week, is to eat just vegetables, every other day. You can eat any vegetable you like, except no peas, no potatoes and no corn. You can put any low calorie, low carbohydrate seasonsing or dressing on your vegetables, but stay away from butter, margarine or oil. Butter, margarine and oil add way too many calories, way to fast. Most patients eating just my permitted vegetables, eat about 700-900 calories a day, if they eat alot. You’ll be surprised how easy this is to do. On your “off days”, just eat normally, but keep sugared foods and alcohol down to a dull roar, 1-2 servings per day. Roasted vegetables are delicious and the most popular way to follow this diet. Put whatever vegetable you like in a 500 degree oven for 30-60 minutes, depending on how many vegetables you are roasting. You can spray the vegetables with a little olive oil spray (take it real easy on the oil) or douse them with bouillon before roasting.
