The 20 gram carb rule

The 20 gram carb rule

If you keep your calories down to a dull roar (1500 a day or so), and limit your carbs to 20 grams per feeding, you can probably, pretty easily, lose 2-3 pounds a week. The good news is that the average serving of carbohydrate is about 20 grams, so limiting your carbohydrate intake to about 20 grams a meal is very easy. An apple is about 20 grams of carbohydrate. A candy bar is about 20 grams of carbohydrate. A scoop of ice cream is about 20 grams of carbohydrate. A slice of bread is about 20 grams of carbohydrate. A small slice of cake or pie is about 20 grams of carbohydrate. Make your meals about dead animules and veggies, and allow yourself one carbohydrate per meal. It doesn’t matter if it’s a slice of bread, an apple or a scoop of ice cream. Not a bad way to lose a couple pounds a week. Or at least maintain during the holiday season, and (sorta) eat what you want.
