The time you eat doesn’t matter, in terms of how your body processes the calories. From a metabolic point of view, it doesn’t matter if you eat at 8 in the morning or at midnight. But from a strategic point of view, the time you eat can matter very much. Most patients do most of their caloric damage at the same time every day. The rule of not eating after 6pm helps some patients lose weight, not because there’s magic or benefit in not eating at night – but because for some patients, most of their bozo calories are eaten after 6pm. You already know what time of day you are most likely to do most of your damage. Instead of the rule of not eating at night, follow a strategy that says no eating at your trouble time of day.
