Always go as long as you can without eating, before you put anything in your mouth. Don’t eat a thing, until you are ravenous. Drink non-caloric fluids all day, but go as long as you can before any food goes in your mouth. I’m not a fan of the mini-meal approach to weight loss. The less you eat, the more and faster you are going to lose weight. Mini-meals do not help most patients lose weight, they just add calories and slow down your progress. Push non-caloric fluid like a race horse. Most of time you think you are hungry, you are probably just thirsty. Hydrate and starve. Frequent feedings don’t buy most patients anything, except excess calories. When you do eat – eat protein, or protein and fat.
