The Cat Food Diet (see yesterday’s blog 4/4/11) works because there’s enough protein (100 grams a day) to limit loss of lean body mass (muscle tissue) and nothing else. It’s the fastest, safest, and most efficient quick weight loss medically possible. Make sure you drink at least a gallon (128 ounces) of non-caloric fluid every day. You need this much fluid to flush out the fat you are burning. I drink more than 128 ounces of green and black tea. Make sure you drink 2-4 bouillon cubes (chicken, beef or vegetable) in water every day, to replace the sodium you lose of this diet and prevent muscle cramps. Each can of “Cat Food” contains 100-200 calories and 20-25 grams protein, depending on whether it’s tuna, salmon, chicken, turkey, etc. You don’t need more than 100 grams of protein a day, so eating more than 4-5 cans a day is Bozo eating. I usually get my canned salmon and tuna at Sam’s Club.
