How not to eat carbohydrates – dealing with your cravings

The key to losing weight is finding a way to stay on a low carbohydrate diet without cheating, which is finding a
way to have carbohydrate cravings, and not eat carbohydrates. Your carbohydrate cravings are caused by
emotional triggers to recreationally eat (because carbs do make you feel good), and your carbohydrate cravings
naturally increase over time, especially when you don’t eat carbohydrates. Imagery to help extinguish
carbohydrate cravings can help (picture maggots on that chocolate chip cookie you are craving), and imagery to
decrease the tension associated with craving a food (and not eating it) can help too. See yourself in your mind’s
eye, craving that cupcake and not eating it, and relax. But the real secret is to drive a wedge between thought
and action. You need to be able to experience carbohydrate cravings (which you will), and not eat
carbohydrates without going crazy. Large Group Awareness Training can help. But make sure your Large Group
is conducted by a psychiatrist or a psychologist. More tomorrow.
