I start almost all patients on my Cat Food Diet, and when they can’t do just dead animal anymore, I move them to Walk, Swim, Fly or to Meat, Fruit & Veg. I hate adding fruit (fruit metabolizes to twice as much alpha glycerol phosphate, so there’s twice as much fat storage), but freely feeding on protein and fat, dead animal calories go to stupid, and without fruit most patients binge on flour and dairy products. The key to adding fruit is to add up to 2 pounds (so you feel satisfied) once a day. Once a day fruit is used 3 ways. Way (1) – Have a fruit only meal for your first meal of the day. Wait until you are ravenously hungry before eating, so if you aren’t hungry until 4pm, that’s when you eat breakfast. If a first meal of fruit throws you into feeding frenzy a couple hours later, that’s what dead animal and veggie lunch is for. Ways (2)(3) – Or up to 2 pounds of fruit is eaten before or after your last meal of the day. You need to test all 3 ways of eating fruit, to see which works best for you, but only after you can’t do just dead animal anymore. The worst thing Bob Atkins did was the insane notion that you can freely feed on protein and fat.
