The real secret to losing weight is to have a structure that cuts both calories and carbohydrates, and at the same time gives you the illusion that you are freely feeding and not hungry. 3000 calories a day is a lot more fun than 1000 or 1500 calories a day, so to lose weight, you are going to have to be hungry. If you like fish and shellfish, mindless weight loss can take place on (almost) unlimited shrimp, clams, lobster, salmon, cod, haddock, etc. Broil, bake or boil, and keep added fat (butter or oil) to a minimum, and you’ll lose weight. If you hate fish and shellfish it’s harder to lose weight quickly, because instead of eating seafood at 20-30 calories per ounce, you’re in beef country at 50-60 calories per ounce. You lose weight more slowly on beef than on fish, because you’re eating twice as many calories.
