Exercise is the world’s best maintenance program. The easiest way to (almost) freely feed and maintain your
weight, or maintain weight you have lost, is by exercising. The most common use of exercise in the U.S., when it
has been surveyed, is that exercise allows people to eat more, and maintain their weight. There’s a reason that
many health clubs no longer have scales – because health clubs promote exercise for weight loss, and they know
that exercise alone doesn’t help you lose weight. Exercise increases your appetite. Exercise makes you hungry.
The more you exercise, the more you are going to eat. If you exercise every other day, hard enough to break a
sweat for half an hour, studies suggest you will maintain any weight you have lost on a diet. But if you are using
exercise alone to try to lose weight, it’s not going to work, because you are going to ravenously hungry..
