If I can teach you how to eat Meat, Fruit and Vegetables, I can teach you how to lose weight and keep it off. You can eat up to 1 pound of low fat Meat (fish, shellfish or poultry) a day. You can eat up to 2 pounds of fresh Fruit (anything you like) a day. And you can eat up to 1.5 pounds of Vegetables twice a day (anything you like, except peas, potatoes or corn). You can eat your pound (16 ounces) of lowfat Meat in 1 or 2 meals, most patients do 8 ounces for lunch and 8 ounces for dinner, or up to 16 ounces for dinner. You can eat your Fruit in 1 or 2 meals, but many patients do better eating their Fruit just one meal a day. Some patients do better with a Fruit only for breakfast, others do better with their Fruit at dinner, either before or after the meal. You can eat your Vegetables in 1 or 2 meals. Most patients have a salad at lunch, and cooked Vegetables or a salad and cooked Vegetables at dinner.
