Dealing with fatigue and sweet and starch cravings

If you absolutely, positively have never been able to stay on a low carbohydrate diet because of fatigue or sweet
and starch cravings, I can help. The fatigue on eating less than 20 grams of carbohydrate a day is usually caused
by sodium depletion and dehydration. Drink a bouillon cube (beef, chicken or vegetable) in a cup of water 2-4
times a day. This should take care of your sodium depletion. The body dumps salt when you don’t eat
carbohydrate. Make sure you drink at least a gallon of water or non-caloric fluid a day. The body also dumps
fluid when you don’t eat carbohydrates. These 2 tricks should take care of your fatigue. For sweet and starch
cravings, eat 65% of your calories in fat. This means eat skin on chicken, bacon and eggs, rib eye steak, real
mayonnaise on tuna salad, olive oil on fish and poultry etc. Increasing fat calories tends to kill sweet and starch
cravings. Experiment with artificial sweeteners. For some patients, Equal SweetNLow and Splenda in coffee
and tea, sugarless gum and diet pop satisfy cravings. For other patients, artificial sweeteners trigger cravings and
cause fatigue. You’ll know almost immediately. Keep your calories under 1500 and you’ll lose weight without
fatigue or cravings.
