A better Food Pyramid

A better Food Pyramid

A better Food Pyramid than the one recommended by the US government is the modified Food Pyramid
recommended by Art De Vany. De Vany is 72 years old and one of the early practitioners of the Paleolithic or
Caveman Diet. The first level of the US government’s Pyramid tells you to eat 6-11 servings a day of bread,
cereal, rice and pasta. The second level of the USDA Pyramid tells you to eat 2-4 servings of fruit, and 3-5
servings of vegetables. The third level of the USDA Pyramid tells you to eat 2-3 servings of milk, yogurt and
cheese, and 2-3 servings of meat, poultry, fish, beans, eggs and nut. The forth level of the USDA Pyramid tells
you to eat sparingly of fats, oils and sweets. The government’s Pyramid recommends the kind of carbo loading
that’s the best way I know to gain weight. The carbohydrate content of the government’s diet will trigger both
fat storage and feeding frenzy. Welcome to the American obesity epidemic. More tomorrow.
