Logic and reason don’t work well in dealing with carbohydrate cravings. You can go over all the logical and rational reasons for not eating that chocolate sundae (I don’t want to blow my diet, I want to lose weight for my birthday, I have health problems, etc.), and then dig in. Cognitive Defusion is better tha logic for dealing with your sweet and starch cravings, because it lets them be. Defusion doesn’t try to talk you out of or reason away your cravings. Using Cognitive Defusion, your cravings are still there, but the urge to act on them is less.
