You need structure to succeed on a diet, because you need to keep your calories from going to stupid. You absolutely, positively cannot freely feed on a low carbohydrate diet, and expect to lose weight. The bet is, eating as much low carb food as you want, you won’t lose any weight. Even keeping your carbohydrate intake to my recommended 10-20 grams per feeding, if you eat as much as you want, it’s way to easy to go way over 3000 calories a day – and gain weight. All the low carb diet books stress that you can eat as much as you want. It’s a great way to sell books – a lousy way to lose weight.
