Dieting is half mind, half body. You need to find a way to get your head into a place where you can deprive yourself, because 3000 calories a day are alot more fun than 500. You will need a psychological strategy to help you deal with your carbohydrate cravings. Your desire for sweets and starches is not going to magically go away, no matter what diet you are on. In fact, carbohydrate cravings gets worse with diet deprivation. The best psychological strategy I’ve found for dealing with carbohdyrate cravings is Cognitive Defusion.
