You need a strategy to deal with your sweet and starch cravings, because without a strategy, eventually you are going to stop white knuckling it, and hit the ice cream, chips, cookies, candy, bagels or whatever. Weight loss is all about limiting or eliminating sweets and starches. If it wasn’t for carbohydrates, no one would have a weight problem. You need to be able to experience carbohydrate cravings, and not eat carbohydrates. Logical self-talk doesn’t work. Reasoning doesn’t work. Goal setting doesn’t work very well. Writing down everything you eat helps, but it’s not the answer. Cognitive Defusion from ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is the strategy I’ve found that works best for dealing with your carbohydrate cravings. Go to my Youtube channel or Google it.
