The Fat Cat Diet – high fat, low calorie, moderate protein – works very well, if you keep the calories low enough. For very rapid weight loss, try to stay at 500-600 caloriies a day. For rapid weight loss, you can take the calories up to 1000 and still lose 5 pounds a week. For losing 3-5 pounds a week, you can take the calories up to 1500. The best strategy for a 500 or 1000 calorie diet is automatic portion-controlled servings. 3-4 ounce cans of tuna or chicken or salmon or turkey or 2 eggs make portion control automatic. Add 200 calories of olive oil (2 tablespoons of olive oil) to each can, and eat 1 can – two or three or four times a day. Always go as long as you can without eating. Wait until you are ravenous, then eat. It’s always easier to eat nothing, than to eat a little. The advantage of the Fat Cat Diet is that you will be less hungry and have fewer cravings. You’ll be surprised how not-hungry you’ll be on very few calories, if your omega 3 (olive oil) fat intake is high enough.
