Most patients are fat because of a limited number of foods, almost always a combination of carbohydrate and fat, that they cannot stop eating. The usual suspects are nuts, cheese, ice cream, crackers, pizza and cookies. Beer and wine certainly don’t help, but they are not the usual main offenders. In fact, if I can get you to eliminate your top 3 offenders, I can usually take off 10-30 pounds. Think about the foods you abuse the most. There are probably no more than 6. Stop eating them for a week or two, and see what happens to your weight.
