If you don’t want to spend the big bucks for Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice or Healthy Steamers (I saw Healthy Steamers on sale last week, 3 for $8), you can usually pick up Banquet TV Dinners on sale for $1 each. Each Banquet TV Dinner has about 300 calories. Half the calories are from dead animal. Pitch the potatoes, corn, rice, pasta, dressing – and eat just the dead animal portion of the TV Dinner, which is about 150 calories. You can eat 6 of these a day (dead animal only), and lose 3-5 pounds a week. I’ve tried the meatloaf, salibury steak, spaghetti and meatballs, imitation pork ribs and pepper steak. All of them taste like school lunches or camp food, which is fine by me.
