I wish it wasn’t true, but motivation is important when it comes to losing weight. Patients who are losing weight for a reunion or for an anniversary or for a special event or to get into an outfit, generally do much better than patients who are losing weight to improve their health or physical appearance. Vanity isn’t enough. The trick is to make sure you have an event, and tie your weight loss to it. The event can be your college or high school reunion or wedding anniversary, or as simple as fitting into a pair of jeans the end of the week. But an occassion will help keep you focused and dieting. Its one of the most important things you can do, to help you lose weight.
