I always smirk when I see a diet that tell you to eat a 5 or 6 ounce steak for dinner, because it’s not going to happen. It’s almost impossible to get a steak in a restaurant that’s less than 12-16 ounces. A 5-6 ounce steak is about the size of a hamburger, so for practical purposes, it doesn’t exist. Portion control is the key to weight loss, but it has to be reasonable and practical portion control. Atkins doesn’t work, because you can’t freely feed on protein and fat and expect to lose weight. You’ll eat way too many calories. The kind of dead animal portion control that works best comes in a can or a frozen patty.
