Once you get that you have to limit calories in order to lose weight, the trick is to figure out the structure that allows you to limit calories and get through the day. Most patients eat one or two meals a day, not three. You probably already know if you will feel better and do better, eating one or two meals. Most patients do best, at least for a while, on protein only, no vegetables. This means about eight ounces of dead animal twice a day, or a pound to a pound and a half of dead animal, once a day. After days to weeks of protein only, most patients add vegetables – any vegetable they like in unlimited (but not stupid) quantities, except peas, potatoes or corn. After weeks to months of protein and veggies, most patients add fruit – up to one pound, eaten once a day.
