Losing weight slowly doesn’t work, because calorie and carbohydrate deprivation is hard and unpleasant, and unless you see pretty immediate results, you are not going to stick to your diet. This is the reason I recommend keeping your calories under 1500 a day, if you want to lose weight. Much over 1500 calories a day, weight loss will be too slow for you to stick to your deprivation program. 1000 calories a day is faster weight loss than 1500 calories a day, but harder to stick to. 500 calories a day is the most rapid weight loss, but almost impossible to stay on for more than a day or two, without diet medication.
