Low carb fake foods – make you gain weight

I’m not a big fan of all the low carb fake foods on the market, simply because they can take both your
carbohydrate and calorie level to stupid. You will lose weight about twice as fast on a very low carb diet (about
8 grams of carbohydrate per feeding), but at some point, the number of calories you are eating does come into
play. And if you’re eating low carb ice cream, low carb cakes, low carb cookies, etc. – the bet is you are going
to go over both the carbohydrate and calorie levels that allow you to keep losing weight. The only fake foods
that I generally allow are diet pop, diet Jello, diet sugar-free Popsicles, and sugarless gum. I have seen way too
many patients eat way too many calories of low carb or low calorie Cool Whip, low carbohydrate hard candy,
and especially low carb sugar-free Fudgsicles and low carb sugar-free ice cream.
