Watch out for hidden and not so hidden sugar. Barbecue sauce is mostly brown sugar. Powered coffee creamer is mostly sugar. In fact, by weight, there’s more sugar in some powdered coffee creamers than in a Hershey bar. Sweetened drinks at Starbucks and elsewhere, especially the “Lite” ones, can be sugar bombs. You need to limit your carbohydrate intake to 10-20 grams per feeding, or 5-10 grams per feeding, if you are not losing weight fast enough. Carbohydrate has 4 calories per gram. Ask for the calorie count sheet at Starbucks and do the math.
