Binging 101

Binging 101

The best way to control binging on sweets and starches, is not to buy problem foods in the first place. Don’t
bring them into your house. Like the alcoholic who buys a bottle of wine to have in the house – a cake, bag of
cookies or container of ice cream is eventually going to be eaten. If it’s not in your refrigerator, freezer or
cupboard – you can’t eat it. Don’t buy a whole cake, if you binge on cake. You’ll eat the whole thing,as soon as
you take a slice. Don’t buy a package of cookies, if you binge on cookies. You’ll eat the bag in a sitting. If you
binge on ice cream, don’t buy a half gallon. The half gallon is your single serving. Cakes, cookies, pies, pastry,
candy and ice cream are available at most grocery stores and convenince stores in single servings. If you just
have to eat something, and you’re a binger, buy just one. As the old commerical said – “Bet you can’t eat just
one.” You can’t.
