I want to take a brief break from the 1000 calorie low carb diets I’ve been posting, to reinforce what I’m doing. It’s what you need to do to lose weight. Your first 20 pound weight loss is mostly about carbohdrate restriction. Limit your carbs to 10-20 grams per feeding, eat once, twice or three times a day, and you’ll lose weight. But after your first 20 pounds, in order to continue to lose weight, you have to limit your calories in addition to limiting your carbohydrate intake. Vegetables without butter or oil are free, except no peas, potatos or corn. The secret is to limit your calories to no more than about 1000 a day. After losing your first 20 pounds, you are already restricting your carbohydrate intake to maintain your weight loss. In exchange for this deprivation, you are not eating the bread and fruit and ice cream you want. In order to continue losing weight, you now have to limit your calories to about 1000 a day, and continue not to eat carbs. That’s what my 1000 calorie, low carb diets are about – your continued weight loss.
