That’s 500 calories. If you are super hungry, go eat up to 6 pieces of fruit a day, that’s another 500 calories. And you can eat up to 6 cups of veggies a day, that’s another 200 calories. Permitted Meats for 8 ounce portions are chicken, turkey, fish and shellfish. Permitted Meats for 4 ounce portions are beef and pork and lamb and veal. Permitted Fruits are anything you can hold in your hand – an apple, an orange, a banana, a peach, a nectarine, a handful of grapes, a handful of strawberries, etc. Fruit must be fresh, not frozen, canned or dried. Permitted Vegetables are any vegetables you like except peas, potatoes or corn – fresh, frozen or canned, without butter, oil or margarine.
