Limiting calories and limiting carbohydrates isn’t easy. You probably need rules (don’t eat red meat) or structure ( 4 x 230 calorie Wendy’s small Chilis a day) in order to successfully lose weight. Structure generally works better than rules. It’s way to easy to eat way too many calories of dead animal on a “no red meat” diet. If you lock yourself into 4 small Chilis a day, there’s less margin for error. Figure out a 1000-1500 calorie per day structure that works for you, 10-20 grams of carbohydrate per feeding, eating foods that you like.
