Stop craving chocolate chip cookies with Implosion

he reasons you fall off any diet are hunger, emotional eating, cravings and recreational eating. Hunger is the
easiest to fix. If you’re hungry on my Run, Walk, Swim or Fly program, or hungry on my Fast Food Diet, go
ahead and eat. Just eat something that’s on the diet. Emotional eating (whether you are mad, sad or glad, all three
can cause falling off a diet), sweet and starch cravings, and recreational eating (out of boredom, mindless eating,
or whatever) are more difficult to stop. Ironically, the fix for sweet and starch cravings is the easiet. Two options
are effective. For the first option, imagine whatever food you are craving, see if clearly in your mind’s eye. See
yourself taking a bite of that chocolate chip cookie. Imagine yourself chewing that first bite, and then feeling a
strange crunch in your mouth. In your imagination, look at the cookie in your hand, and see that is covered with
maggots. The cookie stinks. In your mind’s eye, imagine yourself vomiting up the cookie. See yourself vomit
down the front of your clothing and throw away the cookie. Twenty five percent of patients find that this
technique, which is called Implosion, works to keep them away from forbidden food and focused. Seventy five
percent of patients, and patients who fall off diets because of emtional and recreational triggers to eat, do
something else. More tomorrow.
