Portion control is critical for weight loss, especially when it comes to my 2 least favorite low carbohydrate trouble makers, nuts and cheese. Do not buy nuts in bulk, no large bags, no big cans. It’s way too easy to down 1000+ calories in a handful. If you are going to buy nuts, buy 3 ounce bags. There are usually 450 calories in a 3 ounce bag of nuts, but 450 calories is preferable to 1000. The same strategy applies to cheese. Avoid big uncut blocks of cheese. Always buy cheese in packages of slices. This way, you can exert damage control.
