Portion-controlled protein is absolutely, positively my favorite way to lose weight. Quarter pound burgers from Wendy’s or McDonald’s or Burger King (without the bun) are 200 calories. 6 ounce ground sirloin burgers from Costco are 300 calories. Eggs are 80 calories each. Cottage cheese is 200 calories a cup. A 4 ounce can of chicken or tuna is 100 calories. Cheese is 100 calories a slice. Don’t eat nuts – too many calories and too much carbohydrate. Find a structure that keeps your calories under 1500 a day. If you can do 1000 calories a day, you’ll lose even faster. Try a week on just dead animules. Nothing else. NO fruit, no veggies, no milk, no yogurt, no flour products, etc. Most patients lose 5-10 pounds a week on this program.
