If you are going to eat liquid calories, always go lite. Hot Chocolate is usually 150-200 calories a cup. Starbucks used to sell an 800 calorie a cup version. You can get Diet Swiss Miss (and other brand) Hot Chocolate that has 20-25 calories a cup. Add additional Spleda or Equal if the super-low calorie Hot Chocolate isn’t sweet enough for you. Juice and sugared pop are maintenance disasters. You can get 25 calories a cup diet hot apple cider, compared to 200 plus calories a cup for the real stuff. Diet Coke has no calories. Real coke has 150-200 or more calories, depending on the size of your bottle or glass. Ice cream is also liquid calories and dangerous. Dairy Queen has 200 calories per half cup. Carvel has 270 calories per half cup. Half a cup isn’t much ice cream, it’s an average size scoop. Ditto milkshakes. You can get 2000 plus calorie milkshakes at Baskin Robbins, Coldstone and Dairy Queen and (1000 plus) milkshakes at McDonalds. If you want a milkshake on maintenance, make it yourself with ice cubes and Equal or Splenda and fruit and flavorings and 100 calorie per half cup (very low calorie) ice cream and a blender. You’ll be drinking 200 calories instead of 2000. .
