Dieting is about limiting damage control. As much as I am a fan of meat only diets, and meat and low carb veggie diets, if you can’t follow one of these 2 low carb diets without cheating, you’re going to have to add some fruit. It’s helpful to eat your fruit just once a day, because fruit can spike your insulin level and send you into feeding frenzy, depending on your blood sugar and what time you eat it. Patients fall into 2 groups with fruit intake. One group does well with their 1-2 pounds of fruit for their first meal of the day, and this is a fruit only meal. Your first meal is not in the morning. It’s when you first get hungry. Your first meal could be at 4pm, if you’re not hungry until then. The other group does best with their 1-2 pounds of fruit at their last meal of the day, either before or after their dead animal. If you absolutely, positively can’t follow a meat only or meat and veggie diet, see if you do better eating your fruit for your first meal, or if you are less hungry and more in control, eating your fruit before or after you last meal.
