Diet Economics

In almost every study comparing low fat to low carbohydrate dieting, low carb dieting is faster, easier and more effective. Any weight loss diet that works is actually going to be (to some extent) a low carb diet, or a lower carb diet – because even if you lose weight on a low fat diet, you will be eating fewer calories than usual, so you will also be eating fewer carbohydrates. Carbohydrates drive fat storage by releasing insulin. Insulin is the hormone in the body that drives fat into cells. The more carbohydrates you eat, the more fat you store. The less carbohydrate you eat, the less alpha glycerol phosphate is around for fat storage. If you want to lose weight, limit your carbohydrates to 10-20 grams per feeding, and keep you calories under about 1500 a day. It’s diet economics.
