Cutting out 500 calories a day will not help you lose weight. Cutting out 500 calories a day does not make you lose a pound a week. You have to limit carbohydrate as well as calories, because carbohydrates facilitate fat storage. Unless you limit carbohydrates, you won’t lose weight quickly or efficiently. Instead of cutting out 500 calories a day, eat 500 calories a day. Or eat 500 calories a day, every other day. Unless you drastically restrict calories to no more than 1500 a day or less, you probably are not going to lose weight.
